Course Overview
The NPORS N003 Reach Lift Truck course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a reach truck in the workplace. The training covers legislation, responsibilities of operators, and safe working practices in line with NPORS standards.
This course is suitable for novice operators, experienced operators requiring refresher training, and those needing formal certification.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

Understand relevant health & safety legislation (PUWER, LOLER, HASAWA).

Carry out pre-use inspections and reporting procedures.

Identify hazards and safe working practices in warehouse operations.

Safely operate the reach truck, including stacking, de-stacking, and load handling.

Manoeuvre loads in confined areas and at various heights.

Understand stability factors and load charts.

Correctly shut down and park the machine.
Assessment
Delegates will be assessed through:

Practical operating test

Theoretical knowledge test (verbal or written)
Successful candidates will receive an NPORS card (Traditional Card or NPORS-CSCS Construction Plant Operator Card, depending on requirements).

Course Duration

Novice Operators: 3–5 days (depending on number of delegates, max 3 per instructor)

Experienced Operators (Refresher/Conversion): 1–2 days

Test Only (Experienced, Certified Operators): 1 day
Certification
On successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS Operator Card which is valid for 3 or 5 years (depending on card type).
