Course Overview
​
The NPORS Plant Supervisor Awareness (NO34) course is designed to provide supervisors and those with managerial responsibility on construction sites with the knowledge and skills to safely oversee plant operations and ensure compliance with current health & safety legislation.
This awareness-level course is ideal for individuals supervising operators of plant machinery such as excavators, telehandlers, dumpers, and cranes. It focuses on planning, supervision, site safety, and communication, rather than hands-on operation of machinery.
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS Certificate and Card confirming their competence in plant supervision awareness.
Course Objectives

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the roles and responsibilities of a plant supervisor.

Interpret and apply key legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, and LOLER.

Identify hazards associated with plant operations and implement control measures.

Understand safe working practices related to plant and equipment.

Plan and supervise plant activities safely and efficiently.

Communicate effectively with plant operators, site staff, and management.

Ensure appropriate documentation and inspection records are maintained.
