Course Overview
The NPORS N001 Counterbalance Lift Truck course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a counterbalance forklift truck in the workplace. The training is suitable for novice, experienced, and refresher candidates, with course duration tailored to their experience levels.
Course Objectives
On completion of the course, candidates will be able to:

Understand the relevant health & safety legislation, including PUWER & LOLER.

Identify and explain the major components and controls of a counterbalance lift truck.

Conduct pre-use inspections and ensure the truck is safe to operate.
-
Safely operate the counterbalance forklift under varying site conditions.
-
Manoeuvre loads, stack and de-stack at different heights.
-
Transport loads safely across different ground conditions.
-
Understand stability, load capacities, and safe working loads.
-
Park, shut down, and secure the truck correctly after use.
Assessment
Training and testing are carried out in line with NPORS standards. Assessment includes:

Theory Test (multiple-choice / verbal questioning).

Practical Test covering inspection, operation, load handling, and manoeuvring.

Course Duration
Course length varies depending on the candidate’s level of experience:

Novice Operators: 3–5 days (typically 3 candidates per course).

Experienced Operators (with no formal training): 2–3 days.
-
Refresher / Test Only: 1 day.
Certification
Successful candidates will receive an NPORS Operator Card (Traditional or CSCS logoed, depending on requirements).

Traditional NPORS Card: Valid for 5 years.
-
NPORS/CSCS Card: Valid for 2 years (leading to NVQ requirement for Blue Competent Operator Card).

Forward Tipping Dumper N204
Course Overview
As an NPORS Approved Test Centre, we offer the NPORS N204 – Forward Tipping Dumper training course for operators involved in earthmoving, construction, and site transport operations. This course ensures candidates are trained to safely operate forward tipping dumpers in line with current health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, and LOLER.
The course combines theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience to develop safe, competent dumper operators.
Course Objectives
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
