Course Overview

The NPORS Vehicle Marshall (N403) course is designed to train personnel in the safe and effective marshalling of vehicles and mobile plant on-site. This includes directing and controlling vehicle movements to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow in construction, industrial, and logistics environments.
The course covers key safety legislation, communication methods, risk assessments, and practical marshalling techniques to equip delegates with the knowledge and confidence to perform their role efficiently.
Successful candidates will be awarded the NPORS Vehicle Marshall Card and Certificate (N403).
Course Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the legal responsibilities of a vehicle marshall under relevant legislation (e.g., HASAWA, PUWER)

Conduct site-specific risk assessments related to vehicle movements

Use effective communication techniques including hand signals and radios

Manage the safe movement of vehicles and plant in congested or restricted areas

Understand vehicle types, blind spots, and common hazards
