Course Overview

As an NPORS Approved Test Centre, we offer the NPORS S001 Safety Awareness course to help individuals improve their understanding of general health and safety on-site. This course is designed to ensure workers are aware of the risks associated with their working environment and understand how to minimise those risks effectively.

The S001 course is commonly used as part of the NPORS/CSCS Card Scheme for those entering or working on construction sites, making it a vital step toward ensuring site safety and compliance with UK regulations.

 

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, candidates will:

• Understand their legal duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974

• Recognise common workplace hazards and how to avoid them

• Understand accident and incident reporting procedures

• Identify correct use of PPE and safe working practices

• Gain basic awareness of fire safety, manual handling, and working at height

• Understand how to contribute to a safer working environment

• Prepare for future plant operations or construction-specific training

 

Assessment

Assessment is carried out in accordance with NPORS standards and includes:

• Theory Assessment

  • Multiple-choice question paper based on course content

  • Candidates must demonstrate understanding of key safety topics
